 About these Guitar Lessons

About the course:

It is a free course for beginers! On this site you can follow links to other pages where there is a focus on a particular aspect of playing. These pages contain the lessons which you can copy and print. These pages also contain an MP3 player so you can listen to what your guitar should sound like.
There is a forum where you can meet new people who are also learning. Here you can also ask questions about the lessons or the technical side of guitars.
In the lesson zone, you play your guitar as instructed along with the sound file. This way you can check that what you are playing sounds the way it should. At the end of each session there is a practice song. You can play along with me and then try it as the sole guitarist with a drum and bass track.
Do you already play?
There is room for you too, if you can share your experience on the forums or even submit lessons. You might want to advertise your guitar related services.
Are you a guitar or music related service?
Become a member and you can share your wares with our community of guitarists.
Advice Stick with each lesson until you are confident before moving on to the next stage. Be patient with yourself. Learning an instrument takes a long time. You fingers will hurt and it will sound terrible, but don’t give up! It will take at least two weeks for your fingers to make chord shapes properly and it will take one or two years before they feel natural. Buy a chord book with music from your favourite band and practice playing along with them. This is a great way to learn new chords and generally learn much more quickly. Play with other people who are better than you. Keep coming back to this site to learn more and more.
